5 easy father's day gifts
Father’s Day is this Sunday.  My husband desperately wants a 6′ tall metal rooster to put in the front yard.  Umm, honey, I love you, but seriously?  So I’ll be off to the lawn and garden store tomorrow to see if I can find one that’s cute and not tacky beyond words.  And it will NOT be 6′ tall!  I’m thinking maybe 1′ tall and I’ll strategically place it behind a big bush.
But I do love the idea of having the kids make a gift for Dad themselves rather than a store-bought card.  I mean, sure, you can run to the store and buy a card.  It will probably reference ties or football and will be sweet and a little funny.  But wouldn’t it be better and more meaningful if the kids made something themselves?
Here are 5 Easy Father’s Day Gifts the Kids Can Make (or at least help make!)   I spent some time on Pinterest today and found a ton of ideas, but here are my personal favorites.
Last year my kids made this giant card, as found on SimplisticallySassy.com.  It was absolutely adorable and we giggled the whole time we were making it.  I couldn’t find Now & Laters or a $100,000 bar so we had to improvise.  Here’s how ours turned out:
How about breakfast in bed, including some heart shaped bacon?  Chelsey at The Paper Mama posted this recipe and we made this last year as well.

And yes, another thing we made last year.  (I have a bit of a Pinterest fetish, it seems.)  Jillian at FoodFolksandFun posted this cute printable along with a recipe for sticky buns. Bacon sticky buns, that is!  My hubby loves him some bacon and so do I, so the kids and I made this one too.

Here is one I have not yet tried but I might do it this weekend!  This is so cute and easy.  In other words, right up my alley.  Check out DIYReady.com for this project.
And last but not least, a little handprint craft from CraftyMorning.com.   I have several handprint cards that my son has made at preschool and they are so adorable I have every one of them hanging up in my house somewhere.  This is probably cuter than all of them.
So there you go, 5 things you can do for your very own Super Dad this Father’s Day!
