What’s so great about Effingham County Schools? Well that’s what we’re talking about today and we are starting right now. Hey everyone, welcome back to my blog. My name is Karin Carr and I am a Realtor® with Keller Williams in Savannah Georgia. I personally live in Effingham County and so I’ve got a little bit of a bias, I’m okay with admitting that.
Now if you are house hunting in the Savannah area and you have school-aged children one of the first questions you’re probably going to ask your real estate agent is, “What’s up with the school system in Savannah and where are the best schools?” Well unfortunately here’s the answer that question. Due to fair housing laws and due to ethics rules we’re not really allowed to tell you that. I cannot push you toward a certain school district because I am then in violation of fair housing laws. What I can tell you is a great resource where you can go and do your own research “Effingham County Schools” and then you can tell me what area you want to live in.
Greatschools.org is a terrific website for being able to type in either the street address of a specific house that you’re interested in, or a town in general or a county. So for instance in this example I typed in Effingham County Schools Georgia, and it will show me all of the schools that are in that county’s school district. If you type in 123 Main Street, Rincon Georgia, you’re going to find the exact schools that that house is assigned to. And then you can see what the ratings are. Now, a dear friend of mine whose husband is in the public school system in a different state tells me that GreatSchools.org… that the school rankings – the state rankings – don’t really mean all that much. You can have a fantastic school that doesn’t necessarily get a 10 out of 10 simply because of various reasons and I totally believe it. But at the same time I think this is a very good resource for people that are relocating here from out of the area because how do you know? Where do you want to live? There are a lot of areas around Savannah and they’re not all created equally.
Due to fair housing laws I’m not supposed to steer you toward one or the other. So you can go and check out your schools, find out where the best schools are, get on Facebook, join some of the mom groups or the various Facebook groups for people that are living in Savannah, and ask the question. What do you think of this school district? What do you think of this school? What do you think of Effingham County Schools? And people will be more than happy to give you their opinion, I’m sure. Probably open up the floodgates and maybe get too much of their opinions! So I think that Greatschools.org is a really good resource for you if you’re not familiar with the area already and you’re just trying to narrow down where you want to live.

Just click on that link to be able to see the custom map of all of those schools and maybe that will help you kind of narrow it down right from the get-go.
