Hey everyone, welcome back to my channel. My name is Karin Carr and I’m a Realtor® in Savannah with Keller Williams and I am so proud to introduce…This is Nicole. She has just joined the Georgia Coast Homes team as a buyer’s agent. Yay, welcome Nicole!
Nicole: Thank you!
Karin: So Nicole, why don’t you tell us a little bit about
your background!
Nicole: Okay, so I am an army wife and I’m a mom of two. I have a background in social media strategy and I just recently joined Karin’s team. We moved here from Fort Drum, New York and our whole experience of buying a house inspired me to become a Realtor® and that is why I’m here today!
Karin: That is just the coolest story ever – that she not only found a beautiful home for their family and moved here but that the whole experience was so positive for her that it inspired her to get licensed as a
Realtor®. So I am very excited that you are joining us.
One of the things I wanted to talk about is how you found a house long distance. Because you guys were stationed at Fort Drum coming to Savannah. It’s not like they’re paying for house hunting trips where you can come here.
So what I do for Military buyers or any buyer that’s moving here from out of state for that matter is virtual-reality house hunting. I will go and see properties with a 360 camera, take a 360 video, upload it to a special portal that I use, and send you the link. You can then watch the video and decide, is this going to make it on our short list? Do we like it enough to consider it? Or no, we can cross it off the list because we don’t like it that much.
So why don’t you tell us a little bit about how that worked
for you?
Nicole: We were 1000 miles away. We lived in upstate New York and there was no way for us to come down to Savannah. We had two small children, two dogs, and because my husband was still working there was no way. So for Karin to be able to go view the houses for us that we had interest in, and then for use to be able to see them and it felt like were actually in the house- that’s what led us to getting our house. And we actually purchased our house without ever seeing it in person.
My husband, when he came to Georgia, he actually closed the day that he saw the house. So it was, it was very…it was crazy but it’s a really amazing tool and I recommend it to anybody that’s out of state that’s wanting to move here.
Karin: But then when you came and saw it for the first time how did it compare to what you had seen in the videos?
Nicole: So the videos were amazing and that’s why we made the decision to go with the house. But then when I saw it in person it was so much more amazing in person. It was bigger and more beautiful and I was just so thankful that Karin was able to provide that service for us and that we were able to get a house- the house of our dreams.
Karin: (yelling) I love stories like this! Not only is like…I’m just so happy that you found a house but that the whole thing was so great that it inspired you to go into real estate as a career for yourself.
It makes me so excited. But I love hearing that the video is an accurate representation. You can look up and you can see the coffered ceilings, and you can look down and see the hardwood floors. It’s a lot more than just a video that’s going like this. It’s kind of like you’re controlling what you look at, so I really feel like it is an accurate representation of what the house looks like in real life but it’s good to hear that you thought so too. Yes!
